About Us

HAMILTON RUN Poll Merino Stud is based along the undulating countryside of Jamestown SA, just two and a half hours north of Adelaide. Stud sheep are run between the home base at Jamestown and the pastoral country of the Southern Flinders Ranges.
The Hamilton Run Ram & Ewe auction is held annually in September.
The Stud is owned and managed by Greg Andrews and Nicole Luckraft.

Poll Merino

Hamilton Run Poll Merion Stud is a continuation of stud merino sheep breeding which began in the 1950’s by the Andrews family. Third generation Stud Merino breeder Greg Andrews established the Hamilton Run Stud at Jamestown in 2006.

Hamilton Run genetics influence flocks over a wide range of environments including south east Queensland, central and northern New South Wales, the southern areas and the Wimmera in Victoria, plus all areas of South Australia. Client successes support the versatility and adaptability of Hamilton Run sheep. Wool type selection is so important in the testing climatic conditions and Hamilton Runs highly waxed and low suint wools, enhanced with the Well Gully infusions have excelled in all areas. 1000 poll merino stud ewes are mothered annually.
The objective at Hamilton Run is to breed sheep with outstanding constitution and structure with stylish medium wool of high follicle density.
